Get Ready to Stitch, Learn & Have Fun! Please Note: During this class, dancers will learn and practice their sewing techniques on practice pointe shoes provided by us. This gives everyone the opportunity to build confidence, practice new skills, and learn without the worry of accidentally damaging their own pointe shoes. All supplies are included - practice pointe shoes, sewing kits, ribbons, and elastics - so all you need to bring is your excitement and willingness to learn! * If this is your dancer's first time sewing pointe shoes, we HIGHLY recommend that a parent or guardian stay with them during class. Having a parent there to assist their dancer helps keep the class running smoothly while giving dancers extra support and confidence as they learn this important skill together. During this fun, hands-on, small-group class, dancers will: • Learn pointe shoe sewing step-by-step • Watch live demonstrations from our professional pointe shoe fitters • Practice proper sewing techniques with guided instruction • Ask questions in a fun, encouraging, and relaxed environment • Learn helpful tips, tricks, and techniques used by dancers of all levels • Build confidence and independence in preparing their pointe shoes Whether you're getting your very first pair of demi-pointes, pointe shoes, or you've been dancing en pointe for years, this class is a wonderful opportunity to develop a valuable skill, better understand your shoes, and feel more confident every time you prepare a new pair. Our goal is for every dancer to leave feeling confident, empowered, and excited about their pointe journey while having fun, making new friends, and learning in a supportive environment! Please Note: Dancers will not leave with their personal pointe shoes sewn during this class. The class is designed to teach proper techniques using practice shoes so dancers can confidently sew their own shoes at home or with their teacher's guidance. Teacher Reminder: Every teacher and studio may have their own preferences for how pointe shoes should be sewn and prepared. This class is designed to complement - not replace - your teacher's instruction. Please check with your teacher before registering to see if they have any specific sewing methods or requirements they would like you to follow.
